Mission Statement

The role of Rotonda West Association, Inc. is multifaceted: To protect the property interests of its members; to enhance living in the community; and, to plan for the future in its role as a community association.

Overview of the Association

The Rotonda West Association, Inc. (RWA) is a non-profit Florida membership corporation dedicated exclusively to promoting the common good and general welfare of the residents of the Rotonda West community. It is incorporated under the Florida Not for Profit Corporation Act, as set forth in its Articles of Incorporation. The RWA is also governed by Florida State Laws Chapter 720 and Chapter 617, in addition to applicable local governing documents.

The RWA provides a structured organizational framework that facilitates cohesive community efforts among its members and oversees the necessary operations, administration, and governance of Rotonda West as a united community.

The RWA is responsible for delivering community services, general maintenance, and the care and upkeep of the community’s infrastructure, including buildings, facilities, and other properties. Furthermore, the RWA promotes, and in some instances sponsors, cultural, aesthetic, recreational, and general programs and services for its members.

The Board of Directors of the RWA holds the primary responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the community in the best interests of its members. The Board interprets, applies, administers, and enforces the governing documents that impact the community.

To support these efforts, the Board may establish standing, statutory, and advisory committees. The RWA collects assessments, fines, deposits, and service fees, which are utilized to finance the association’s activities.

Board of Directors

The Rotonda West Association is supervised by a Board of Directors. Members of this Board are elected by the lot owners within Rotonda West. Specific details, including the number of directors, term lengths, procedures for vacancies and replacements, removal processes, and respective powers, are outlined in the By-laws, Article II – Directors.

Board of Directors meetings are held at 12:00 P.M. on the second Thursday of each month at the Rotonda West community center and are open to the public.

A notice of each meeting must be posted at least two days in advance within the community center. To receive email notifications regarding Board meetings, please submit a request or contact the RWA Manager at 941-697-6788.

The Officers of the RWA Board are selected in early December of every year by the Directors following the election of those Directors.
